Abdul Ali is the author of Trouble Sleeping, winner of 2014 New Issues Poetry Prize selected by poet Fanny Howe. He earned his M.F.A. in Creative Writing at American University. His poetry, essays, and interviews have appeared in Gargoyle, Gathering of Tribes, National Public Radio, The Washington Post magazine, New Contrast (South Africa), Academy of American Poets (poets.org), Poetry Foundation, Poet Lore and the anthology, Full Moon on K Street, among other publications. He has received grants, awards, and fellowships from The DC Commission of the Arts and Humanities, American University, College Language Association, and the Mt. Vernon Poetry Festival at George Washington University. He has taught writing at Towson University, Goucher College, Johns Hopkins University, and currently teaches at Howard University.
Olena Jennings is the author of the collection of poetry Songs from an Apartment (Underground Books, 2017). Her translations of Ukrainian poetry appeared in the anthologies Words for War (Academic Studies Press, 2017) and White Chalk of Days (Academic Studies Press, 2017) as well as The Common, Poetry International, and Wolf. Together with poet Lucas Hunt, she is a host of the new Poets of Queens reading series (www.poetsofqueens.org) Her fiction has been published in Joyland, Pioneertown, and Projecttile.
Thaddeus Rutkowski is the author of five books of prose. Haywire won the Members’ Choice Award, given by the Asian American Writers Workshop. He teaches at Sarah Lawrence College, Medgar Evers College and the Writer's Voice of the West Side YMCA. He received a fiction writing fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts. He lives with his wife and daughter in Manhattan.
