NYWW Classes

New York Writers Workshop offers a wide range of writing classes designed to support writers at every stage of their journey—from curious beginners to published professionals. Our classes are taught by experienced, published authors who are passionate about both craft and community.

    The New York Writers Workshop faculty has been teaching writing classes at the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan since 2001. Classes run during Fall, Winter, and Spring/Summer terms.

  • Tim Tomlinson is an extraordinary teacher of fiction writing--I studied with him in the early nineties and returned to his online courses a few years ago. He has an eagle eye for what works and what doesn't and offers practical, clear explanations. Many of his insights helped with my forthcoming memoir, Divorcing Mom (Cynren, 2019). His exercises were a real boon --a piece I wrote as homework was just accepted by Flash Fiction Magazine.
